Polar Express

We made our annual trip to the Polar Express in Lindon, UT this past weekend. We unfortunately picked the worst weekend to see anyone from the Farnsworth Clan because of a wedding conflict however we still had a fun time seeing Santa Claus and remembering what this season is all about. Wyatt got right up on Santa's lap and started telling him everything he wanted for Christmas which included an airplane and candy.

Wyatt loved riding on the train.

The first stop was the North Pole where we saw Santa Claus, got jingle bell necklaces, and candy canes.

Then we heard a short message from Santa, sang Silent Night, and got back on the train where we were taken on a picture tour of the life of the Savior. I really love this family tradition because it gets me in the spirit of Christmas and reminds me what it is really all about.

Thanksgiving

Well we failed this year in taking pictures of the actual Thanksgiving meal, sorry. We were in Brigham City for Thanksgiving this year at Jeff's parents house. We also took the opportunity to have our sister-in-law Emerald Scott take some family pictures for us. So I will post those. A great time was had by all during dinner. Although Wyatt was not a fan of taking pictures... Hence his face in almost every picture. Spencer was loving all the attention though.

Here are all those who could join us for dinner.

Left to Right: Charleigh, Ryan, Spencer, Hunter, Lori, Lexi, Koston, John, Jeff, Wyatt, Liz
Not Pictured: Emerald (she is taking the picture)

Then here are the family photos we got:

Grand Canyon Adventures

We bought a National Parks annual pass this year. So we have been trying to go to different National Parks near us. For veterans weekend, we took a trip down to Arizona to go camping and see the Grand Canyon. Wyatt was really excited to go camping all week  and kept asking when we were going. It was a 9 hour drive on Thursday but we made it before it got dark so we could set up camp.

The boys loved playing in the dirt and climbing the rocks around our campsite.

The first night we made foil dinners for dinner and roasted marshmallows for dessert.

It got pretty chilly at  night. Luckily we planned for that and had hand warmers and lots of blankets to help us keep warm.

In the morning we saw a herd of elk walk through our campsite to get to the water by the bathrooms.

Then we got to walk all the rim trail and see the Grand Canyon.

Wyatt soon got bored of looking at the canyon and then just wanted to climb all over the rocks along the trail.

We even took a family bike ride along a trail.

When we reached our destination, we celebrated with ice cream.

Spencer didn't quite get how to hold his ice cream.

On Saturday, we decided to break up our drive home and stop at Bryce Canyon National Park.

The boys had a lot of fun  in the visitors center while Mom bought her magnet.

Then we got out and saw the actual canyon.

Afterwards we ate   a late lunch/ early dinner. Then the boys ran around and got rid of some of their energy before we finished the drive home.

Overall we had a great weekend filled with family fun and memories.
