The annual Anderson family reunion was in Cincinnati Ohio this year centering around Joshua and Taylor's wedding. Here are some of the things we did.
We took two days to drive from Utah to Ohio.
We got to meet our newest niece Camilla Lee.
Then on Sunday we had Cami's baby blessing at church. That night we watched home movies that my Dad has been transferring from VHS tapes to digital copies. Wyatt had loads of fun playing with his cousin Jared and Stephanie's niece Caydence, who came with her from North Carolina.
Josh even brought out his T-Rex suit to scare the kids.
On Monday, we went to visit the National Air Force Museum. We got to go inside a model space shuttle.
These are some of the controls they have in the shuttle.
This is the cockpit where they sit to take off.
This is a space suit they have on display there.
A new exhibit they have at the museum is the old air force one planes that you can walk through. They have quite a few planes that old presidents have flown on that they have outfitted so you can walk through and see the insides.
On Tuesday, we drove down south of Louisville Kentucky to Mammoth Cave National Park. We took a tour of the largest cave tunnel system in the United States. They also had a great visitors center that outlined the history of the cave and all that it is used for. The kids loved running around in it and seeing all the fun things to do.
Then we got to actually go into part of the cave. It was really big.
On Wednesday, we went to the Newport Aquarium. This was lots of fun and we got to see lots of aquatic animals and even touch a few.
This was the first touch pool. Here we got to touch starfish, sea anemones, and other things like that.
Then we got to see a giant sea turtle, sharks, and other fish in a giant tank that the kids could stand right next to.
There was a display of what turtle eggs looked like.
The next tough pool was where we got to touch different types of stingrays.
They had a tunnel where you could go through and pop up in the middle of the stingray pool.
There was a frog room where they had giant frogs that made noise and a frogger game.
We got to see penguins at the aquarium.
Then there was a rope bridge that you could walk out over the shark pool.
The boys wore themselves out walking around so much.
After the aquarium, we went to the Creation Museum. It was a museum centering on the creation of the Earth as the Bible tells it. It covered the history of the Earth from the creation all the way to the Flood. Basically it was trying to mesh science and what the Bible says about the creation.
There was also a petting zoo at the Creation Museum.
On Thursday, we made our way to Indianapolis. There we went to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis (which was huge). There was a giant slide from the second floor to the first floor that the kids loved riding on.
There was a whole section on the circus where you could learn about different circus acts and try them out.
We also got to see a model race car.
Spencer loved the under 5 area. There he got to play with balls that went through different pipe systems.
He also got to play in the water.
He tried climbing on the climbing gym but he wasn't quite big enough.
He got to play different instruments with Papu and Mamu.
And he got to play in the sand.
The museum also had a dance section where we learned different dances from history.
Wyatt had a blast at the museum. He just kept moving from one thing to the next to the next.
After the museum, we headed over to our hotel. The boys went swimming while the girls went to paint pottery. Then we had dinner with Taylor's family.
Friday morning was the wedding at the LDS Indianapolis Temple.
After the wedding, we went to my grandparents house and had a luncheon with Taylor's family and those who could be there from my mom's side of the family. After that we drove to Cleveland. However, we stopped halfway there in Columbus and played at a trampoline park.
After the trampoline park, we continued on our way to Cleveland.
Saturday, we had a lazy morning at the Klimenko residence. Then we went and played a round of bowling before heading to the reception held in Canton Ohio.
On Sunday, we headed back to Cincinnati. We packed up and got everything ready to leave for home the next day. Wyatt loved playing games with Papu.
Mamu loved holding all the babies.
We left on Monday and drove the two days back to Utah. The boys were really worn out from all the excitement but we had lots of fun and made lots of memories!!
