Independence Day Shenanigans

This year for Independence Day we took a trip up to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Parks.

We even got our mandatory Independence Day outfits.

We left on the fourth of July and we stopped in Rexburg, ID to feed the baby and the other boys got out of the car to play in the park.

Then we continued on our way. We camped about 20 miles outside of the west entrance to Yellowstone. So on Wednesday we got to camp and had lunch, set up our campsite, and them explored the woods around the camp.

The boys loved playing on the hammock.

On Thursday we went into Yellowstone National Park. Right away we saw our first Bison, we learned later that in North America, they are not Buffalo but Bison.

We then saw some hot springs.

We then saw a waterfall.

We drove right by some Bison and they got really close to the car. Wyatt and Spencer were naming all of the animals that they saw, so here is Kevin:

At the Old Faithful visitor's center, we got to see the skins and some skull bones of animals found in the wild.

Then we got to see Old Faithful erupt.

Jeff got a selfie with a Bison.

That night we went back to the camp site and the boys explored the woods some more.

On Friday we drove through Jackson Wyoming to go to the Grand Tetons. We saw some really really interesting things in town.

We then set up camp in Grand Tetons National Park.

On our exploration of the park, the boys decided it was time to get wet so they went into Jackson Lake.

Here are some pictures of the Grand Tetons.

We had lots of fun exploring and spending time together as a family.
