This year, the Anderson Family Reunion was held at Disney World in Orlando Florida. We had a lot of fun and saw some really cool things. Overall the week was really hot but we made some incredible memories together.
Everyone arrived on Monday June 3, 2019. We all arrived at different times so we sort of just played around the hotel that day. We stayed at the Art of Animation Resort for the week. It was really cool and had a lot of things to see. We stayed in the cars suites and they had all our favorite characters around the place.
Then on Monday night, we got all together and hot a Hot Wings challenge that Liz's brother Josh put together. Not everyone ate hot wings but we all had fun watching. There were 10 different flavors and hotness levels. I think about half the people made it all the way through.
On Tuesday we went to Magic Kingdom. Liz's sister Stephanie made everyone s shirt for the reunion. We all had the same thing on the front and different mickey heads with our names on the back. We wore these on Tuesday.
The first ride we rode was Space Mountain. We also got the thing called Memory Maker, so we got to keep every ride photo that we took in the park as well as any photos taken by a Disney photographer. Highly recommended if you ever make it to Disney World.
We also went on a raft over to Tom Sawyer Island where we explored a fort and caves and other fun stuff.
For Dinner, we had the Disney Dining Plan. So we got one sit down meal per day. On Tuesday we used this meal at the Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom. We got to meet Winnie the Pooh and his friends as we ate.
After dinner it was off to ride more rides. We rode the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the carousel, and the Speedway Race Car ride.
Other notable rides we rode that day were: Thunder Mountain (even Wyatt), Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, and the People Mover). Also the firework and light show they put on is super well done. It was awesome!
Wednesday was Liz's brother-in-law, Ilya's 30th birthday. His favorite movie is Toy Story so we went over to Hollywood Studios and spent the day there. Stephanie also made everyone party hat mickey ears to celebrate.
The first ride we rode was the Alien Saucer Ride. Nobody wanted to ride with Mom so she rode by herself while the boys rode with Dad.
Then we went to a Muppet's 3D show. After that we had a fast pass for Toy Story Mania. The line to get on the ride is really awesome! They have all sorts of game memorabilia and fun things to do while you wait. Since we had a fast pass we didn't get to use any of it but it looked really cool.
Then we went on the Rockin' Roller Coaster and Star Tours.
We also saw the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. After that we went over to the Polynesian Resort where we had a luau dinner and show.
Connor was so funny. He was dancing the whole way through dinner. Every time there was music playing, he was dancing.
After the Luau, we took the kids back to the hotel. Mamu and Papu stayed there with them while all the adult children went back to Magic Kingdom to ride more rides.
Stayed tuned for the rest of the week in the next post.
